Movies 2010 summer

I felt like writing so here are mini reviews of the movies I have seen the summer.

Iron Man 2- Had some fun moments but felt very disjointed. While I love that this is leading up to the Avengers it sometimes felt like a really long teaser trailer for that movie. I wish they had an extra to make it work better. War Machine was cool but never got to be War Machine he was always trying to kill Iron Man until the end .Also I felt that Mickey Rourke was wasted spending a good chunk of the movie building robots and on the computer. B-

Shrek Forever After-I had low hopes walking into this movie and walked out not as shitty as I thought I would. It was no masterpiece but it was entertaining at times and a lot better than the 3rd one. 3D was meh like most movies. C+

Get Him to the Greek- A funny movie that got weird when it tired to be serious. Russell Brand is either love him or hate him and while I am not a fan I found him good in the movie and he plays the rock star role well. Jonah Hill is probably the most mature in this movie than in any other one he has done. Had some great moments and Sean "whatever his name is now" combs steals the scenes he is in. Again serious moments felt wonky and flat but were not a big part of the movie. B

Toy Story 3- Basically I loved it. The animation is beautiful. Voice acting is great and story is deep. I only wish Pixar would work on original ideas. They are so good at it. A-

To be honest the only other movie that interest me is Inception.

Character

I recently bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 and while playing I was thinking "Wow I've been Mario in a lot of games". I looked it up and found that Mario was in about 200 games and I had played about 180 of them. Then the thinking got deeper. "I've grown with this character and have watched him grow as well" I found it was a weird bond we shared. I (and hopefully all of you) have watched Mario go from dark pixels to blocky polygons to smooth and shiny. We have controlled him from being just able to jump to fly around and entire world. Where I'm going is video-games allow us to grow with a character through his whole life and story and while movies and shows can show it we control them and experience them. We take Solid Snake through his first mission to just about his death-bed. We make Big Boss go from hero to villain. We give Kratos his revenge in his quest. It's amazing that video-games can connect with a character so well and deeper than any film can. If you suffered this far from the bad writing thank you and please look forward towards expanding on this idea.

Shame lst

So since I have nothing better to do I am going through my pile of shame. It is a big damn pile from games created long ago to the new stuff. Here are a few I am tackling now. I did beat Spiderman- Web of Shadows just yesterday and that is a pile.... of shit.

Half-Life 2(360)- I am liking this game. Some parts go on too long but some are fun(like the bridge part). After this then on to Ep1 and Ep2.

Chrono Trigger(DS)- I suck at this game apparently. I am fighting this stupid boss with two hands that beats the shit out of me. I really liked it though until I met this boss. I will get through it though.

Dead Space (PS3)- This game sat in a box for 2 years until I finally played it. I am really digging it so far though some parts are annoying.

Final Fantasy VII (PSP)- I am finally tackling this game. It's fun though it has so much crammed into it. Another fun game.

Summer: START!

So yeah summer(at least for me starts tomorrow). I hope it will be better than summers past cause 2 years ago i was working a crummy job and last year besides going to the gym I did nothing at all so I hope this year can be a big improvement. While I have no job per se I have an chance to do something great. About a month ago Argus Eyes (my drama society at school) was visited by an alumni of the club. She is interested in starting a theater company and she wanted members of our group to start up and also learn from her. Her husband and herself have lots of experience in theater and hopefully if all works out I can learn a lot about acting and hopefully one day be able to audition for various jobs. I have decided during this school that while business is cool and very interesting my hearts not in it. I thought it was going to be something different than it turned out to be but I happy that I am majoring in it anyway cause I have learned a lot. Anyway enough about that crap. Let's talk about space. Or galaxy. Ok Super Mario Galaxy 2. I love this game. I love Mario. If you have a Wii you must buy it. No questions asked. So yeah this day is gonna end with me handing my FASFA in then packing to go back to school for a few days. Happy Memorial day!
